This 17thC gem has Summer Lightening permanently on sale with regularly changing guest ales sourced regionally and nationally. There has been a hostelry on the site since the 11th Century. The hotel is famous for King John holding court on several occasions. In more recent times it became one of the great coaching Inns on the Great North Road. The main hotel bar has 2 handpumps.The beers on the bar are predominantly from LocAle brewer Oldershaw.

Part of the Q Green Group of hotels, the hotel has 3 golf courses (2 of which are Championship courses) and a driving range. The Claret Jug golf course bar offers a changing hand pull but the main hotel bar doesn’t offer any.

A cosmopolitan and contemporary bar that features beers from local breweries Brewsters and Zest, other regulars include beers from Bakers Dozen, Kelham Island and Framework. Supplemented further with changing guest beers. Located on a paved side street between the High Street and the Market Square, known locally as Butchers Row, it has a relaxing atmosphere during the day and comes alive and vibrant on the evenings and weekends.

Close to the town centre, the club serves three real ales, LocAle supplied by Oldershaw. The club holds popular quarterly Jazz Nights.
- Grantham Railway Club
A community run club voted Branch Club of The Year for 2022, 2021 and 2020, which supports Grantham's three local brewers. This former British Rail Staff Association club plays host to numerous cribbage, darts and domino teams as well as supporting various social and community organisations. There is live music every Saturday night, with a spacious back room available to hire. CAMRA members welcome. Accessible on foot following the railway underpass or in a vehicle from Huntingtower Road.

A superb example of a well run independent town pub selling a range of six beers featuring award winning LocAles from Newby Wyke,a seventh hand pump is on the bar selling cider. Popular with drinkers and sports fans alike it has five screens around the bar showing different sporting events at a volume conducive to normal conversation. Allow time to find the hidden entrance to the toilets and watch out for the spider. Only pub with its own telephone exchange!
